Trudder Lodge in County Wicklow, Ireland is a unique and a beautiful venue.

Trudder lodge is a nineteenth century country house in Georgian Palladium style built on approximately 10 acres of garden. This Georgian Lodge was built in circa 1835 and is set in a large mature woodland garden. Its less than an hour to Dublin. Something my Mother in law would call “a grand big house” but yet it feels very cozy.

It’s a family run venue Niamh – The Queen of wedding planning – grew up in this magnificent house, so she knows every little part of this house like the back of her hand!

I have looked after lots of weddings in Trudder Lodge and usually I go straight upstairs to look after a bridal party then sneak out before the ceremony begins!

This summer between lock downs I came together with a group of lovely wedding suppliers to do a gorgeous photo shoot and we were lucky it was exactly the week the leaves began to turn from green to glorious red that surround Trudder Lodge –   Click HERE to see the shoot!

Between set ups I got to wonder around this gorgeous venue. So I have seen the house quite a few times; it has 5 beautiful bedrooms, 3 reception rooms for guest to mingle around before being seated in the large reception room for dinner and dancing but I didn’t know about the secret walled garden, the outside ceremony room, the twinkly fairy lights in a canopy of trees, the tennis courts TENNIS COURTS!!! How did I miss all of this…. and the best surprise I got was the cozy woody bar in the basement!

This place is so beautiful and it just keeps on giving.

I love a sing song at the end of a Irish wedding not that I can sing a note but this is the perfect spot for it.

When you drive in the big curved gates at the entrance you will find is a sweet little ginger bread house (gate lodge) go a little further passed the mature gardens and a trickling stream follow the curved pathway until you see the real life dolls house at the end.

I met met Niamh (Queen of Trudder) many years ago when I was looking after a bridal party and we hit it off  – Niamh is amazing at her job, and has such a love for Trudder Lodge it’s contagious plus she is really sound – its always a pleasure to visit.

Niamh originally worked in events in Dublin and after a few small weddings in Trudder Lodge she took over looking after weddings there in 2011 and hasn’t looked back.

Trudder Lodge is your own private venue you will not have to share your wedding weekend with any non guests!
