I first met Lorraine on a shoot so many years ago on a photoshoot for Confetti Magazine.

What is your main influence?
French film has always intrigued me and I adored Manon des sources and Jean de Florette when I was a teenager. I spent a lot of time in France in my teens and it has always drawn me back. The beautiful light and scenery in Province brings me such joy but I also love the majestic architecture and busy streets of Paris. Right now my children are my biggest inspiration. Their joy in life makes me look at my surroundings with fresh eyes and they inspire me to do well in my career for their future and as a good example to them.
How did you start your career in Make up?
I did a make up course with Annie Gribbin back in 1999 and once I had completed it I assisted Zoe Clark who has since become a great friend. I still really admire her artistry she has something very rare and beautiful in her craft. I think that style is being sadly lost nowadays with this very heavy instagrammed look. I moved to London in 2002 and worked with MAC on huge shows under some of the best make up artists in the business. That was a really exciting time for me and the experiences I had were invaluable.
The favourite part of my job as a make up artist is giving women a renewed confidence in themselves. I often see this with women who have young kids and very little time for themselves or women in their 50s and 60s who have got stuck in a rut and feel as if they have lost their mo-jo. It is a great gift to be able to help them shine again.

What do you have planned for the future?
I am actually taking a leap this year and trying something I’ve wanted to do for about 5 years now. I am launching an online baby and kids boutique, Pom Pom Pirate. Since having my daughter in 2013 I have really enjoyed sourcing well made, beautiful items of  clothing on my travels that you just can’t buy here. My online boutique will bring a handpicked collection of gorgeous outfits for babies and young kids as well as beautiful accessories to make any outfit stand out. All of the items are ethically sourced and made from natural fibres and quite a few organic pieces too.
Website is coming soon but follow the progress here –
